Misc / Image Comparison
« on: May 15, 2017, 01:18:02 pm »

So I had a question abut comparing images. Let's start of with a quick background on my project:

I want to figure out when the lowest traffic density on a bridge is ( I want to know when it will most likely be empty for the longest amount of time ).

To start I have a traffic cam, It will give me a static image every 10-20 seconds. Project is in C# at the moment.
So I grab a new image from the cam every 20 seconds and store it.

Not the next part is where I am looking for some ideas. What is a reliable way to analyze the images in order to answer my question.

My thought was get an image of when the bridge is empty ( no traffic ) and then compare it to the other images, a higher match means less traffic. Never done this before so just a theory. However it would be nice for it to work all times of the day, night included.

General Talk / My Build
« on: February 14, 2012, 06:41:30 pm »
I am building a new computer, going to get into competitive gaming and or more intensive programming. Not sure which haha

Anyway, so far the parts that are sitting next to me are the NZXT Black Phantom Case, and windows 7.

I have a parts list but I am currently slightly poor and I have to wait a month till my college refund check comes in, not happy about that.

I will update with the parts list and pics later.

AS3 / [AS3] Tutorial List
« on: March 05, 2011, 08:02:48 pm »
Hey, I have recently started learning AS3, and I decided to create a tutorial whenever I learn something new. Most of my time at the moment is devoted to getting the basics down, but then I will be making tutorials and posting them here. I will update a list of the tut's at the bottom of this post. Wish me luck  :)

C++ / Array Question
« on: March 01, 2011, 09:08:27 pm »
Sorry dont have a lot of time so gonna be short and to the point

I wanted to make an array of words. Then have user input, and it would check the user input to see if it had any of the words in it.

This was the only way I know of, granted I didnt have much time to dig into the problem.

char test[4][10] = {"Hi", "Hello", "You", "Are"};

Then I did a for loop to loop through to find a word. But sizeof() returns 40 (4 x 10) but thats not the real length. Tried a null terminating check but that failed.

So how would you do this?? Thanks :)

C++ / [ Help ] wchar_t * to String
« on: January 08, 2011, 02:59:59 pm »
Hey, I have a quick question.

I have a struct, Inside it is this:
Code: C++
  1. wchar_t PlayerName0[12];           // Unicode / Max - 11 Chars + EOS (12 total)

However I need to place that into a string.

Code: C++
  1.                         wchar_t *orig = StaticPlayer->PlayerName0;
  3.                         string user;
  5.                         int i = 0;
  6.                         while(orig[ i ]!= '\0')
  7.                         {
  8.                                 user.push_back(orig[i]);
  9.                                 i++;
  10.                         }
  12.                         char bug[255];
  13.                         printf(bug, "%S", user);
  14.                         PrintCommand(bug, GREEN);

Whats the best way to do this, the current method prints out a string of random symbols.

I also did:

Code: C++
  1. wchar_t *orig = L"StringTest";

With the same result. So that narrows down the possibility of it not grabbing the correct name.

General / Linux server
« on: November 13, 2010, 04:15:57 pm »
I had some questions because I want to set one up. I have a Linux box, with ubuntu distro. I have Mysql, Apache, phpmyadmin so far.

I can type
Code: [Select]
http://localhost/phpmyadmin/ and it will come up with the Phpmyadmin stuff.

However, I want something like: cPanel/WHM (Accellerated 2) Is this free?

How can I make it so this server can be accessed from other places. Not just localhost?

Im kinda looking for how to set up a server basicly.

Edit: Added "Webmin" and forwarded my ports. So possibly it can be accessed from other places. Not really sure. Next step?

Project Advertisment / Flash Website
« on: September 14, 2010, 05:35:55 pm »
Hey, Quick post. Will add more to it later.

I was wondering if anyone wanted to help start up a flash game site. We would make most the games, add user submission later possibly.

I can make some simpler games at the moment, I need graphics and people who are good with Flash.

Gonna be doing Mysql and Php as well, But I think I can handle that.

Also will need a website design.

Ideas? Anyone want to help?

Beta Releases / ProjectY Beta

Well Nathan already started something like this. Looked cool so I thought I would make one in C#

Its far from done, and didnt really do any bug testing.

Some Screenshots:

All for now, Might try the ideas Cele posted in the other thread.

DirectX / D3D9 Tut - Load image from byte array
« on: July 09, 2010, 02:29:38 pm »
First you want to convert an Image to a Byte Char, I will making a program that does this. For now it can be done much faster with HexWorkshop - Found Here:

After you install HexWorkshow, you will be prompted to Restart. Once you restart Go to your picture, Right click on it, and hit "Hex Edit with Hex Workshop"

Once it is open, hit "Ctrl + A", Then go up to the menu: Edit -> Copy As -> C Source

Open notepad or any text editor and paste the contents. The start of it will look like this:

Code: C++
  1. // Generated by BreakPoint Software's Hex Workshop v6.0.1.4603
  2. //
  3. //
  4. //
  5. //  Source File: C:\pwned.PNG
  6. //         Time: 7/9/2010 6:28 PM
  7. // Orig. Offset: 0 / 0x00000000
  8. //       Length: 1289980 / 0x0013AEFC (bytes)
  9. unsigned char rawData[1289980] =
  10. {
  11.     0x89, 0x50, 0x4E, 0x47, 0x0D, 0x0A, 0x1A, 0x0A, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x0D, 0x49, 0x48, 0x44, 0x52,
  12.     0x00, 0x00, 0x05, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x04, 0x00, 0x08, 0x02, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x31, 0xF1, 0x63,

Remove all the commented code (Lines that start with "//") and change:

Code: C++
  1. unsigned char rawData[1289980]

To: (Without Quotes)

Code: C++
  1. BYTE "ArrayNameHere"[]

Then add that to your program.

Example: (I wont post it all because it is a VERY big Array)

Code: C++
  1. BYTE _MyImage[] = { 0x89, 0x50, 0x4E, 0x47, 0xD, 0xA, 0x1A, 0xA, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0, 0xD, 0x49, 0x48, 0x44, 0x52, 0x0, 0x0, 0x2, 0xD8, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0, 0x5A,...};

You EndScene Will look like this:

Code: C++
  2. {
  3.         if (runOnce)
  4.         {
  5.                 runOnce = false;
  6.                 GetCenterScreen(pDevice); // Get Center
  7.         }
  8.         if(Menu == NULL)D3DXCreateTextureFromFileInMemory(pDevice, &_MyImage, sizeof(_MyImage), &Menu); //Create image from array
  9.         if(SpMenu == NULL)D3DXCreateSprite(pDevice, &SpMenu); //sprite
  10.         SpMenu->Begin(D3DXSPRITE_ALPHABLEND);
  12.         int menuX = 10; // dont need, just changing the position
  14.         if (MenuS)
  15.         {
  16.                 DrawTexture((int)menuX / 2, (int)menuY, Menu); // draw image
  17.         }
  18.         SpMenu->End();
  19.         return oEndScene(pDevice);
  20. }

Some Vars:
Code: C++

Code: C++
  1. void DrawTexture(int x, int y, LPDIRECT3DTEXTURE9 dTexture)
  2. {
  3.         SpMenu->Draw(dTexture,NULL,NULL,&D3DXVECTOR3(flt x,flt y, 0.0f), 0xFFFFFFFF);
  4.         return;
  5. }
  6. void GetCenterScreen(LPDIRECT3DDEVICE9 pDevice)
  7. {
  8.         pDevice->GetViewport(&pViewPort);
  9.         centerScreenX = ( float )pViewPort.Width / 2;
  10.         centerScreenY = ( float )pViewPort.Height / 2;
  11.         menuX = (centerScreenX - 110);
  12.         menuY = (centerScreenY - 225);
  13. }

The Result:

Introductions / Hello
« on: July 08, 2010, 04:48:32 pm »
Hey, Came across this site from a socket tutorial. It looks very interesting, and has a lot of useful information.

Well not much to say about me, I do some programming. C#, C++, Alittle ASM, Actionscript 2. Is all I can think of off the top of my head.

Eh, Not sure what else to say. Thought I should at least introduce myself though  :)
